The tech world knows no bounds. What was once unimaginable is now unfolding before our eyes, faster than we can comprehend. When the world anxiously waited to see ChatGPT eating jobs, it got eaten by DeepSeek!
In this ever-evolving landscape, SAP’s response is nothing short of revolutionary. CEO Christian Klein assures AI infrastructure that does not only guarantee cost efficiency but also one that helps businesses transcend traditional boundaries and set new standards for what’s possible in 2025 and beyond.
As we look ahead to 2025, SAP’s plans are bold and clear: to embed AI everywhere, transforming how businesses operate and thrive in an increasingly intelligent world. Let us delve deeper into what’s going to happen in the SAP universe.
AI in Focus
We’re impressed by SAP’s ‘AIm Higher’ social buzz, which clearly inspired their ‘AI everywhere’ focus this year.
In 2025, SAP is doubling down on its commitment to embedding artificial intelligence across its entire product portfolio, making AI an integral part of every solution. With half of its cloud orders in Q4 already including AI features, SAP is solidifying its position as a global AI leader.
“Our strong position in data and Business AI are going to be revenue accelerators in 2025 through 2027.” CEO Christian Klein said.
Now most of SAP’s cloud deals include “significant” AI use cases.
But the real game-changer is yet to come. In mid February, SAP hints unveiling a groundbreaking innovation designed to revolutionize how businesses harness AI and how AI agents can thrive.
Cloud Revenues to SOAR
Driven by promising cloud business, SAP surpassed its 2024 targets. Naturally, the forecast reflects SAP’s expectations of continued growth in its cloud operations.
More Innovations Awaited in SAP AI Copilot Joule
SAP’s AI copilot, Joule, which helps users get answers to intent-based questions, returns insights, and summarizes data/information using generative AI will have new capabilities added to its bandwagon. “Approximately 20,000 SAP developers are using Joule for developers and are able to code faster – by 20%,” says SAP CEO Christian Klein.
SAP Extends Legacy System Support for Complex Migrations, But 2027 Deadline Stands Firm
Relief, but no respite! Yes, SAP has announced it will extend support for legacy systems in special circumstances for customers who commit to a cloud migration deal. Originally, SAP had set a 2027 deadline for mainstream support for Business Suite 7 (BS7) and its ERP software SAP ECC 6.0, with extended support available until 2030. However, for organizations with large, complex IT environments, SAP is introducing a cloud subscription transition option, SAP ERP, private edition, to facilitate their migration to RISE with SAP. This option will be available from 2031 until the end of 2033, but SAP emphasized that this is not an extension of the original 2027 deadline.
SAP CEO Christian Klein reaffirmed that the 2027 cut-off for maintenance would not be changed, but added the new offering would help customers with challenging migrations. This announcement comes amid SAP’s recent strong financial results, including an 11% revenue growth to €9.38 billion in Q4.
